Unique Accommodations: What Should You Stay In?

If you’re looking for an alternative to the typical hotel room, there are plenty of options.

B&B’s

These bed and breakfast establishments offer romantic accommodations in historic homes or mansions. The best ones have luxurious suites, gourmet breakfasts, and afternoon tea service.

Suites

If you want something more spacious than a traditional hotel room but don’t have time to book an entire cottage or villa, consider booking one of these suites which often offer kitchenettes and living rooms as well as sleeping quarters.

Villas

A villa is like having your own house while on vacation! They come with pools and full kitchens so you can prepare your own meals (or order in!). Some even have private chefs available if cooking isn’t your thing!

Homes

Renting someone’s home for your getaway is a great way to get away from it all without sacrificing comfort or luxury–and since these homeowners are usually very nice people who love hosting guests, they’ll make sure everything is perfect!

Getting Around

  • Rent a car: If you’re looking for an adventure, consider renting a car and exploring the state on your own. You can drive along scenic highways or take off-road routes that lead to hidden beaches and natural wonders.
  • Rent a bike: There are plenty of places where it’s possible to rent bikes in Florida–especially if you’re visiting during one of its many annual biking festivals. Just make sure to pack lots of sunscreens, the Florida sun can be brutal!
  • Take taxis/Uber/Lyft/etc: These services are available pretty much everywhere nowadays; whether they’re actually worth using depends on your personal preferences about ride-sharing versus owning cars yourself. IU always recommends renting a car because it is cheaper than paying multiple ubers unless you are in a big city like New York
